While living in temporary housing in the Tampa area you are only about an hours drive from Ft. Myers; located there is the winter home of Thomas Edison. April Fools Day would be a great time to visit since he was the butt of many April Fools' Day Jokes. For example; soon after Thomas Edison invented the phonograph......that would be 1877, people were convinced that his genius was limitless. On April 1st 1878 the New York Graphic printed that Edison had invented a machine that could change soil into cereal. And, turn water into wine. This would of course end world hunger. Well, it's no surprise that people did not believe this and soon the date of the news report revealed that it was just a joke. So, beware the day of pranks and have fun in Tampa !
