My guess is that most of you have never seen a kumquat let alone visited the annual Kumquat Festival in historic downtown Dade City Florida. Well, while living in temporary housing in Tampa Florida you will have your chance. It takes place this Saturday, January 25th, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Listen to local entertainment, see antique cars and shop for arts and crafts. Admission is free and shuttles from parking areas are available and free, too. You can eat tons of kumquat treats like pie, cookies, ice cream, marmalade, smoothies and even salsa made with this unique fruit. Of course no old time festival in Florida goes with out kings and queens and a pageant. The winners will all be there for you to meet.
