Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition drew
thousands to Siesta Key Public Beach and nobly raised support for our
endangered sea turtles.
Karen Fralich and Dan Belcher took the first prize of $5,000 for “Brainstorm
(An Ode to Caffeine). The sculpture featured a crazy haired thinker holding a caffeinated drink and
also showed the structure of a caffeine molecule. Now, that’s pretty deep but,
a nice pay day in the sand for a great cause!
