Gateway Wreath and Décor Hanging

Every year, the City of Tampa hangs beautiful wreaths at the entrance to the Historic District and garland along 7th Avenue. You might want to head over to watch as the final holiday décor touches are placed throughout Ybor City. The holiday season is right around the corner and you can almost smell the goodies baking in the oven!

Andy Warhol Exhibit Travels to St Pete

It won't be much longer now... the famous Andy Warhol exhibit is coming to St Pete. And, that’s great news for residents of the Tampa Bay area! More than 100 works by Warhol (one of the most well-known artists of the 20 century) will be exhibited at the Dali Museum January 18 through April 27. In this extensive collection of work, you’ll find more than several dozen paintings, drawings, films, and photography. And, you certainly don’t want to miss the work of Sarasota artist Jack Dowd who will display one of his many life size sculptures of Warhol himself. If you’ve visited Sarasota, you might have seen Dowds’ amazing life size sculptures at the airport or in permanent displays around the city. We hope you have a fantastic week in Tampa!

Veterans Day

 Monday, November 11th is our national holiday of Veterans Day. Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving. Migrating Polar Bears?

It’s hard to imagine seeing a polar bear migration while sitting on a sunny beach in Tampa, Florida but…it does happens in one small town of Churchill, Manitoba. In fact, every year, this quaint little town of only 800 residents experiences more than one thousand bears on their journey for food. Polar bears make their way near Churchill while trekking towards their feeding grounds on the ice covered Hudson Bay. Their primary diet of seals (high protein and fat), allows them to build up the necessary layer of 4.5 inches of fur, hide, and blubber to survive the icy cold winters.  Well, back to the beach for us and have a wonderful day!

Solar Eclipse

If you wake up early tomorrow morning you’ll have a chance to experience a partial solar eclipse over much of the eastern United States. It should begin to take place around 6:30 a.m. (don’t forget you should roll the clock back one hour tonight).  The eclipse can be seen as far west as eastern Ohio, eastern Kentucky, eastern Tennessee and most of Georgia. Remember to do a little research on the internet on viewing the eclipse safely. For those of you not located in the viewing areas, you should also be able to see live streaming video on-line at space.com
