Hillsborough State Park a Must When Staying In Temporary Housing Tampa

While staying in  the Tampa area you will most certainly want to be out doors and enjoying the beauty the area has to offer.  During your time in temporary housing visit the Hillsborough River State Park to get a taste of what Florida was like many years ago.  The River was named in the late 1700's for Lord Earl of Hillsborough, the British Colonial Secretary.  At the park you  can learn more about the history and it's significance in the settling of Florida.  No matter your interest you will find the park a great venue.  Bring your bikes and ride the 1.6 mile Wetlands Restoration Nature Trails and the 2.2 mile Park Loop.  Rent a bike if you don't have one. There is full service camping, primitive camping and programs for youth camping.  Rent a canoe or kayak and explore remote areas of the river and observe the wildlife. Sit by our beautiful swimming pool and keep cool as you rest and relax.  There is free Wi-Fi all over the park for your convenience and safety. Fishing, hiking and geo-seeking are popular activities.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy our shady picnic areas and playground; and bring your pets, they are welcome in the outdoor areas. Be sure to bring your camera, and plenty of water if it is hot.  The concession stand is limited, but available all day.  Have fun in the Florida sun !
