This would of course end world hunger.  Well, it's no surprise that people did not believe this and soon the date of the news report revealed that it was just a joke.   So, beware the day of pranks and have fun in Tampa !

Swim With Manatees When You Stay In Tampa Temporary Housing

Recently we posted about viewing the  Manatees while you are living in temporary housing
in Tampa.  Now, we can tell you where you can swim with the Manatees.  In an old Florida town north of Tampa called Crystal River these beautiful creatures are plentiful.  They are protected but still endangered due to boats and people.  Propellers may cut them and larger boats can crush them.  Since they love the warmer waters of the rivers they are easy to spot.  They are gentle, slow movers who don't shy away from humans.  The Save The Manatee Club and Jimmy Buffet are devoted to protecting them.  From November to March each year Kings Bay is a great place to see them.  Several businesses in Crystal River will take you snorkeling and help you see the Manatees.  Or, kayak and canoe to see them.  Try The American Pro Diving Center, Kayaks and Beyond, and Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.

Real Florida Fishing Village A Great Day Trip When Living In Temporary Housing In Tampa

Stroll Bayshore Blvd When Living In Tampa Military Housing

One of the most wonderful areas of Tampa is Bayshore Blvd. Located on the south side of the city near downtown, it is right next to Tampa General Hospital.  This is a long, winding sidewalk that takes you along the beautiful Hillsborough Bay.  Rollerblade, bicycle, walk, run or jog the trail and see the most beautiful scenery in Florida.  It's 4.5 miles so you will get a great work out if you want, and it's 10 feet wide so there's plenty of room for a stroller.  When you are living in military housing in Tampa for a few months, this walk will become your favorite.  Be sure to check for local festivals and activities along the boulevard and join in the fun.  The weather is always great in Tampa and outdoor activities are numerous.

Magical Manatees Can Be Seen While You are In Tampa Temporary Housing

See the Manatees when you living in temporary housing in Tampa.  You may have heard of these cute creatures but never seen them.  You will have a chance when you are in Tampa.  Just a few minutes off of I-75 you can visit a viewing center at the Tampa Electric Company, free of charge.  Due to the release of warm water from the plant, the Manatee gather as well as some Tarpon. As many as two dozen will be there at any given time so bring your cameras. Stroll boardwalks along the river and be ready to capture a view of all kinds of wildlife.  Clean restrooms, a snack bar and gift shop are also on site.  The best viewing is when the air is cool; February, March are great months.  On the website you can even watch live on their web-cams.

Visit The Sunshine Skyway Bridge While Living In Our Temporary Housing

When living in temporary housing this month there are many beautiful sites to see within a short drive.  South of Tampa on US 19 is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.  At the north end of the bridge is St. Petersburg and to the south is  Terra Ceia, Palmetto and Bradenton.   The bridge is 4.1 miles long and 431 feet tall at the highest point.  It's design is a continuous pre-stressed concrete cable-stayed.  And, it was inspired by the Brontonne Bridge in France.  The original bridge was opened in 1954 but then collapsed in 1980 when the freighter MC Summit Venture collided with a support column.  About 50,000 vehicles the bridge each day that connects Pinellas and Manatee counties on the west coast of Florida
