West Coast sending help to restore power

Disaster relief is heading to the East Coast with support from the U.S. Air Force. Thursday morning, airmen and women at March Air Reserve Base began loading the first of 14 military transport planes with Southern California Edison trucks.

Southern California Edison is sending 70 utility vehicles to the region in an effort to restore power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Originally, Edison had planned to send its trucks via a ground convoy. With the help of the Air Force the much needed relief will arrive in a matter of hours.

By Friday morning, Edison crews should begin to spread out over several states to help restore power to millions of families that are still in the dark. It’s great to see our nation coming together to help those in need!
